This lens is a real bang for your buck, I have tried this lens and my only problem with it is the lens hood that is provided. I'm not sure if the one I used had a manufacturing problem or that it's just my copy but it simply falls off too easily. This vs the Tamron? I'd say this is better. Vs the Canon or Nikon equivalent? Not as good obviously but holds up with it's strengths and at half price of the house brands.
