It's quite hard to fault this lens with how much you pay for it. It's sharp, bright and has the ability to block out distractions from the subject. Of course this lens has it's shortcomings. You have a bad MF ring, unusual filter size (It does matter) and it's extremely prone to damage (Dropped mine a foot high) and it's a manual lens now. If you're a beginner with a crop sensor camera and want to experiment I highly recommend this lens as I write this as Canon does not have a dedicated crop prime lens.
