The quality is satisfactory within the whole range, unless you need very large prints (I've printed up to A4 = 8x12 inches with wonderful results). Great for travelling. The VR works really well and the focus speed is surprisingly good. I only wish the lens would be brighter but of course you can't expect this from a lens of this range.
