This is an oft-overlooked lense that optically is the best quality superzoom out there except for the recent Tamron 18-250 and Sigma's own OS version of the 18-200. I've got hundreds and hundreds of really fine shots with this lens....when you get up into the f/5.6-8.0 range you might just as well be shooting with Nikon for the quality you get.

I'm very pleased with the lens. I use it as my primary walkabout/travel lens. I combined with a Sony A350 and which is a compact setup compared to multi lens users. Toward the 200 end of the range it would be hard to hold steady enough at slower shutter speeds. So this might work best with a camera body that has built in Image Stabilization or consider a mono or tri pod. There is a good bit of fisheye distortion at less than 20mm. But pics ae sharp and colorful and the auto focus works well. The lens is a bit heavy, so if you have small hands, you might try it in a store to see if it will work for you.

I neglected to mention in the above reveiw that the lens barrel does Not rotate. This is very helpful when using a polarizer.
